Vern's certifications and background

Vern is President and Lead Instructor for TrailMed Wilderness Medicine Ltd. He is a Nationally Registered, Critical Care and Flight Paramedic and resides in Estes Park, CO.                                                                       Vern is an EMS Instructor & Colorado EMS Site Director. He has been active in Search and Rescue for over 18 years and is currently active as a Paramedic and Search & Rescue for Rocky Mountain National Park. He is an Instructor Trainer for American Safety and Health Institute and is on Faculty for Colorado Advance Life Support and Colorado CPR.

Prior to moving to Estes Park 9 years ago, Vern was the Clinical Director at the Center for Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and served as the Chairman and Operations Officer for the Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group based out of Pittsburgh, Pa.

His Wilderness Medical Training began at the Wilderness Emergency Medical Services Institute and National Ski Patrol. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in Wilderness Medicine from the Academy of Wilderness Medicine with the Wilderness Medical Society.

Outdoor activities include Telemark Skiing, Mountaineering, Rock & Ice Climbing, Road Cycling,  Mountain Bike racing (poorly) and SCUBA diving

Kellie Falbo

 Kellie's certifications and background

Having spent 8 years with the Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District as a volunteer EMT and Firefighter, Kellie has learned the value of remote rescue first hand. Taking it a step further, she became a certified Wilderness Medicine Instructor in 2002. Kellie enjoys sharing her knowledge of the outdoors and inspiring others to become leaders in the field.

Outdoor activities include Whitewater Rafting, Canoeing, Snowshoeing, Skiing, Camping, Hiking and Backpacking.
