

Wilderness First Aid


Wilderness Fist Aid- 16 HOUR is a 2 day course for those who do more serious wilderness activities. It is the choice of many trip leaders and Camp Councilors. WFA presents wilderness topics in more detail, provides more time for skills practice, and also includes role-playing wilderness accident scenarios. Recommended reading is encouraged prior to class and will be assigned on enrollment.
Review of Epi-Pens and the new Twinject will be covered.
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive:
Wilderness First Aid course certification card from the American Safety and Health Institute valid for 3 years

Basic Wilderness First Aid is an intensive 1 day - 9 HOUR course for those who do wilderness recreation. This is an introductory course and may also meet the needs of volunteers who lead groups on short trips in relatively low-risk situations where they are not far from help. This course prepares you to recognize and avoid wilderness hazards and do first aid outdoors with whatever equipment you have or can improvise. This course is recommended for hikers, climbers, fishermen, cyclists, paddlers.
Focus is on prevention, minor treatment, and stabilizing a critical patient.
Our class enrollment is regulated to make sure that we have a high instructor to student ratio.
